Product Description

What is Biotin?

Biotin is one of the B complex vitamins. This group of vitamins is responsible for breaking down fat and carbohydrates from the foods you eat and turning them into energy. This energy provides fuel for many of your body’s necessary functions. Biotin is also sometimes called B-7, vitamin H, or coenzyme R.Biotin promotes good skin health, and it helps regulate your LDL (bad) cholesterol and blood sugar. Biotin is also necessary to produce keratin, a protein that promotes strong nails and hair.Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin. That means it’s not stored in your body for long. Your body doesn’t naturally produce it, either. However, the bacteria in your gut can produce biotin. These bacteria, also called intestinal flora, have a healthy impact on your health.

Function

1. The photoreceptors in the photoreceptor cells are formed.Biotin is oxidized in vivo to form CIS and trans retinoic aldehyde. There are two kinds of photoreceptor cells in the human retina, among which rod cells are sensitive to weak light and are related to dark vision, because the rod cells contain the photosensitive substance rhodopsin, which is composed of optic egg cells and CIS retinoic aldehyde. When vitamin H is deficient, CIS retinoic aldehyde can not be replenished enough, rod cells can not synthesize enough purple cells, thus resulting in night blindness.2. Maintain the integrity and integrity of epithelial tissue structure. Biotin is essential for maintaining the integrity of epithelial tissue. Vitamin H deficiency can cause keratosis, hyperplasia and dryness of mucous membrane and epidermis, resulting in dry eye disease. In severe cases, corneal keratosis thickening, inflammation, and even perforation can lead to blindness. When sebaceous gland and sweat gland keratosis, the skin is dry, and hair follicle papule and hair fall off. It is easy to be infected because the epithelial cells of digestive tract, respiratory tract and urinary tract are not perfect.3. Enhance the body's immune response and resistance. Biotin can enhance the body's immune response and infection resistance, stabilize the lysosomal membrane of normal tissues, maintain the body's humoral and cellular immunity, and affect the secretion of a series of cytokines. Large dose can promote thymus hyperplasia, just as immune enhancer can enhance immunity.4. Maintain normal growth and development. In the absence of biotin, reproductive function declines, bone growth is poor, and the growth and development of embryos and young children are hindered.
