What is Hydroxypropyl Chitosan?
Hydroxypropyl chitosan is a water-soluble chitosan derivative modified by chitosan. It can be dissolved in water and soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. It has good emulsification, antibacterial properties, hygroscopicity, moisture retention and surface activity. Its hygroscopic and moisturizing capacity is similar to that of hyaluronic acid (HA). Its emulsifying properties and foaming properties are comparable to those of non-ionic surfactant Tween60. Hydroxypropyl chitosan is mainly used as a moisturizer for cosmetics, especially in emulsion.
